Tell us about yourself.
I am a creative content writer with four years experience in the field. I started off with writing for my fellow friends who used to source their projects from various platforms bit that was up to until I leaned of Truelancer. I have always wanted to be a boss of my own and be able to see my creativity appreciated in several ways. Article writing, both in blog and website reviews together with other content creations has enabled me to become the independent Freelancer I am today. I am a person who loves learning new things in many aspects and from here, I am able to interact with clients whom we exchange ideas and collaborate to come up with the best solutions.
Why and when did you start freelancing?
Freelancing for me has been a 2 and a half year journey for me so far. The moment I went East to West and left to right and realised there was no other flexible work like this, I decided to become the best in my field. I am am avid researcher and I love to read through blogs and website contents. Sometimes I always go through some online content and wish I had the admin privileges to edit a few changes. With freelancing I am able to curate my own thoughts and ideas coupled with facts from relevant sources and this makes me satisfied to see my client satisfied as well.
What do you like about being a freelancer?
The most interesting thing with freelancing is the fact that I am able to work from several places. Flexibility is something that really thrills me and also the push to choose my own projects as I set targets which I am sure to deliver as per the client’s instructions. I am now able to get the most suitable hours for me as I balance with my other spheres in my life. There is no one time I have to come home exhausted after a day at the office as I am the one who creates my best schedule. That is of course with an alignment to my client’s deadline.
What are the challenges you have found in your freelancing career?
As for me, the very first challenge was the struggle in building a name and a brand for that matter. It has been said time and again that we need to always present ourselves as a brand when we are in the job pool. It’s a bit hard to stand out as a brand though when you have no outstanding portfolio. I sent out bids for around 2 months without anything until my very first job which I was very prompt to deliver, the rest as they say is history!
In as much as you would love to earn some dollars, there is more to it. First of all, your client has expectations and if you are able to take them through every phase of their project execution without leaving out any detail, then you are the best candidate. It is all about dedication, hard work and honesty. Honesty dictates that you would not see your client going in a rather different direction than they are supposed to so as to achieve their goal and be quiet. If you can change their direction when it is a bit off and bring them back on track, you are now in a pool of the best freelancers that clients are looking for.
How did you get to know about Truelancer?
I was doing a Google search on some of the best freelancing sites in the world. Those exact words were actually the ones which I used. There was an ad at the very top titled “Truelancer.” The icon was so welcoming and I could not resist clicking on it.
What do you think about working on Truelancer?
It is just but the best experience ever. I mean, being able to work with flexible schedules and not forgetting the easy to user interface from Truelancer where I am able to navigate easily as I receive, send and communicate with both the client and the support team. The payments are made instantly with your pro version and the support team are highly responsive in the interaction with you as the cloud worker. I definitely call upon any freelancer out there to join Truelancer and watch themselves grow.
What do you like doing when you are not “Freelancing”?
I am a lover of music and when I am not freelancing I love to sing out some music as I listen to it as well. I also love to hangout with my friends over some movies and sometimes just hiking. I cannot forget the times I spend with my family as well as I share my joys of freelancing with them.
