Yeyethu Mhlaba

I’m currently a third year Social Work student at Stellenbosch University, pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work with a major in Psychology. I began my academic journey with a solid foundation from Bardale Senior Secondary School, where I completed my high school education in[removed]My subjects included Xhosa, English, History, Geography, Economics, Life Orientation, and Mathematics Literacy.

After high school, I initially pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Health Science and Social Services but transitioned to Stellenbosch University in 2021 to focus on Social Work. My coursework includes comprehensive studies in social work theory and practice, sociology, psychology, and computer literacy. I’m also studying IsiXhosa to better connect with diverse communities.

In terms of practical experience, I’ve had the opportunity to work with several organizations. At Maties Community Organization, I provided therapy sessions for vulnerable children and handled administrative tasks.
