Born in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh in 1990, Kandula Pradeep Kumar is a
sculptor currently practicing in New Delhi. He holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from Jamia
Millia Islamia, New Delhi, and a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam.
Rooted in memories of his village life, Pradeep’s sculptures draw inspiration from the everyday
objects once used by his grandparents—grindstones, water pots, jewelry boxes, and other
domestic artifacts now fading into history. These forms become vessels of collective memory,
embodying the beauty of labor, tradition, and time worn utility. Through his work, he reinterprets
these objects as contemporary relics, evoking the tactile presence of a past interwoven with
personal and cultural identity.
I practice reflects a dialogue between material and memory, merging rural sensibilities
