About Me
After graduating from mechanical engineering at ETH Zurich with a master degree in 2001, Thomas joined the Institute for biomedical engineering at ETH Zurich as PhD student. In this position, he got exposed micro-computed tomography microCT and was developing software Java, Java EE, MySQL, C/C++, PHP, MySQL, Apache, JBoss for visualization and image processing of large 3D datasets in the field of bone and mineral research. He received his PhD degree as Dr. sc. ETH for the project entitled A service-oriented platform for visualization and high-throughput structural characterization in bone phenomics. In 2008 he co-founded the ETH startup b-cube AG, which provided image data analysis solutions, and from 2013 till 2018 he worked for the company Scanco Medical AG microCT manufacturer as senior support engineer. Thomas likes the OpenVMS operating system and distributed message-based software architectures.
