Mark Bwaggu

My name is Mark, and I am a queer refugee, community organizer, and skilled electrical installer. I have a Certificate in Electrical Installation Craft II, and years of hands on experience working on both residential and commercial electrical systems. My technical skills have not only helped me survive, but they’ve also allowed me to assist others in the refugee community with essential services, often when no one else would.

Alongside my trade, I lead a grassroots initiative that supports queer sex workers, women, and girls — many of whom are survivors of violence, homelessness, and systemic discrimination. Our shelter is a safe haven for those who have been pushed to the margins. It’s a place where people are seen, supported, and protected.
