Im an AI Data and Linguistics Specialist based in Nairobi, Kenya, with a degree in Linguistics and Computer Science from the University of Nairobi. My work sits at the intersection of language and artificial intelligence . I help make AI systems smarter, more accurate, and more culturally aware.
Over the past few years, Ive been working with international teams to train and evaluate large language models, particularly for Swahili and English. I bring a rare combination of native level Swahili fluency and strong technical skills in Python, machine learning, and NLP , which means I dont just understand the data, I understand the language and culture behind it.
My experience ranges from annotating and curating datasets including leading a project with over 50,000 Swahili text samples to building internal tools that streamline data review and validation. Ive also done prompt engineering.
