About Me

Kellie Riggs b[removed]received a BFA with honors in Jewelry + Metalsmithing from Rhode Island School of Design in 2011.

While at RISD in 2009 Kellie cofounded and curated the school’s first student-run, off-campus gallery space, Exposé.

In 2011 she was awarded a Fulbright Grant to Italy where she focused exclusively on the evolution of the field, Contemporary Jewelry, and its relationship to other art genres and culture. Writing and visual research throughout Italy and Europe was a main component of the grant period.

Currently in Rome on a Post-Baccalaureate fellowship through RISD, Kellie is continuing her research, studio practice and writing projects for her blog, Greater Than or Equal To. She freelances steadily for Art Jewelry Forum and Current Obsession Magazine.

Kellie has lived in Italy for almost five years and is fluent in Italian. She has done some minor translations with which she'd like to continue more of.
