Jermaine Hendricks

I hold an Honours Degree in Geography and Environmental Sciences with Advance Geographical Information Systems as my Major and core focus, currently completing a Masters Degree in Geo-Informatics.

My career started in the Department of Defence DOD. My Arms of Service was the Army, and my Core, the Engineering Core. I have been in the Army for more than 15 years, where I have been trained in both combat and specialised engineering and various strategically developed programmes within the DOD.

For 8 years of the 15 years in my military career I have been the Department Head for Geographical Information Systems GIS, were I hold the rank of Captain representing the Western Cape region in operations conducted by the Military, Police, Disaster Management Dept. Local Government and various other institutions such as NGO’s, GISSA and other spheres of government.

I have been deployed externally to The Democratic Republic of Congo DRC applying GIS and Environmental Sciences as a tool
