About Me

For me the central component when designing is the community. I consider the principal issues that concern a particular place and community and attempt to solve these issues by designing spaces and places that encourage public engagement through education, recreation and volunteering. It is important that the solution I come up with embeds the participation of the local people and respects local distinctiveness. It is my understanding that the destruction of local identity is driven by the lust and glamour of 'globalization'. The secondary component when designing is how the solution naturally provides a service to the local area enabling the community to work effectively and self efficiently. This is to leave a lasting legacy that builds upon and drives any future growth within the local area in the right direction.
