It has been a pleasure working with Dhanuj. He has been working roughly 20hrs/week since early February 2020, on image processing in python, and still continues part-time. He is smart, conscientious, detail-oriented and easy to work with. He writes very nice, structured python code and has excellent analytical skills. He worked on two key areas: OCR (extracting text from images) and Face Movement Detection.
For OCR, where he spent most of his time, he was provided base code. However, our use cases are quite complex so he had to code many rules on top. Some rules he was given. In other cases, he analysed errors by comparing output with images and helped determine the root cause and then we devised new rules. So he became an integral part of this project. He also added additional data validation and coded verification by comparing data in the database against text in the images. He works competently with encrypted data, SQL insert, select, update and joins. He was provided code for upload/download to AWS S3 file storage and successfully integrated this into our code.
For a separate project, we required a “liveness check” to ensure we have a real person in front of a web cam. He built a simple front-end page in flask, included instructions on the screen for users, and then detected face movement. He stored results in the database and integrated with our other code.
