Calvin Fernandez

I am a public health education executive, specifically working in the field of cancer. Previously, I was a tutor/volunteer at a HIV foundation in Kuala Lumpur where I worked with adults & children who have been affected or infected by HIV. I have also had a short stint in a clinical diagnostics lab during my internship where I worked with different human fluid samples and carried out various tests on them. All of these experiences have allowed me to have a deeper insight into health issues and it is imperative that more discussions about them take place, both on a national & global level .

I have a bachelors degree in biomedical science and as a writer, I have spent the last 10 years writing for various competitions and was awarded the silver award by the Commonwealth for one of my work in 2012 as a junior writer. I also spent a year leading the editorial team in university, where I was the editor in chief, along three other people and I was the head of the writing team.
