About Me

I started copying BASIC programs from magazines to my uncle's spectrum back when I was less than 10 years old, and when I could get a hold of a linux with a gcc compiler that was amazing. Fast-forward I did a bachelor in Computer Science and Engineering, programmed in C/C++ in several companies, pursued further academic education on the side, and a few years ago jumped into machine learning and data mining, mainly using the Python stack (Numpy, Scipy, Scikit-Learn, Cython, IPython...). I love how machine learning can be used to solve problems that are too hard or confusing to tackle in a more straightforward, algorithmic way, and how nowadays we can use data to tell a story and answer really hard questions.

I have worked in several countries, doing all kinds of software (and even some basic linux systems administration back in the day) and I just like what I do.
