About Me

With an educational background ranging from Forestry to Economics, and later MBA, Abiy built his career in diversified fields. His career started in 2004 as a forester; his journey then took him all the way to become an accountant, marketing officer and to settle in journalism which he is engaged in until now. This journey helped him to understand the economic, social and political landscape of Ethiopia to have a better perspective in his reporting, news analysis and translation.
In the last 10 years, Abiy has been working for sport and business newspapers and magazines in different positions; from Junior Reporter to Editor - in - Chief posts. Abiy is now a Researcher and Analyst at Ifriqiyah Media and Communications while still keeping his writing and journalistic passions.
His experience both in print and electronic media, coupled with his active presence in the social media give Abiy the edge to work on any communication-related jobs.
