You are required to devise an algorithm to track boxes moving through a conveyor belt. How would you devise a system to identify individual boxes/bags from a camera at around 1-1.5m height from top of the box. You are allowed to put a pattern on a sticker on top of box. The question is what pattern would you use for reliable detection in varying lighting conditions and orientations of the box. The box may be irregular shaped, example cement bag vs ball-shaped (spherical) vs box(cuboidal). The top surface with sticker can be assumed to be within +/-30-degree orientation compared to a perfectly horizontal alignment ( so sticker can be at up to 30-degree angle which the algorithm has to consider ). The camera has a fisheye lens ( 360-degree camera ).
