Life
is full of surprises that are too numerous to count. Most of the things we do
today are results of decision taken yesterday. Some are good with nice results,
while, others are bad with painful outcome!

Whatever
we may do, we are bound to experience the outcome of decisions taken at any
point in time.

&nbsp;&nbsp; According to the story of the prodigal son
as recorded in the Holy Bible, he took a decision to collect is heritage while
the father was alive. What a strange decision?&nbsp;
It was never done or heard that heritage are apportioned while the owner
is still living. Notwithstanding, the prodigal son took a decision that was
right In his &nbsp;to own his portion of the
wealth earlier than schedule.

To
the prodigal son at time moment it was wise and normal. Therefore, he did all
to collect the heritage and it was given unto him. But few years later proofed
the prodigal son to be unwise because it was recorded that he lavished
everything and turned to be so poor. Luke 15:11-19 ( The prodigal son )

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; When the younger told his father “I want
a share of your estate now, instead of waiting until you die!” his father
agreed to divide his wealth between is sons. A few days&nbsp; later his younger son packed all is
belongings and took a trip to a distant land, and there wasted all his money on
parties and prostitute. About the time his money was gone a great famine swept
over the land, and he began to starve.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The step taken by the prodigal son failed
later because he became poor as a result of spending his money on parties and
prostitute.wen the prodigal son was enjoying merry making and woman he thought
it was the best decision to divert his heritage into. He was wise at that moment
but life proved his total decision wrong. You don’t lavish money if you don’t
want to be the next prodigal man or woman, instead save and invest money
wisely, don’t spend money, instead invest it to multiply.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Every human being has a period in the
history of time or life. We all face and bat led with time that is too harsh to
compromise with. Time waits for nobody. Therefore if you should fall or forget
to make your hay while the sun shines, you are left with useless waste to
tackle and find a place of disposal. 

Because
there is no market for a rotten egg anywhere in the universe

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Time changes, these changes proved some
decision wrong while others shine and project like a head with apex.

In
the time past, it was a thing of pride to acquire little education. A mere
attendance in school up to standard six instead of our today’s primary
six. It was assumed that a person has read six textbooks (iwe mefa).

As
small as it was then, you are qualified to be a school teacher with standard
six primary school certificate. That earns you a great respect and honor as a
teacher in the village. You will also have along role to play in the church
either as a priest or lay-reader.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; But today, that has gone with time, the
wisdom or decision not to read more books is no longer relevant wisdom today.
If you must be educated you have to read many long books, half education will
suffer or trouble you these days. Therefore no stopping no waiting, keep
improving yourself. 

Education
is continuous the decision to stop reading today will not be relevant tomorrow.
Just imagine, when those with many certificates are yet to be fixed somewhere
who will give room for the half educated or the drop-outs?

Anyway
our politicians will recruit them. They are only set of undirected being who
can direct the unfocused. Be on your toes. Don’t rest on your eras shine your
eyes very well, if you do not want to be irrelevant in the society later on. Do
not do things that will make you wise today&nbsp;
be a big fool tomorrow. You need to think deeply and keep considering
your ways

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Yesterdays, it was a good wisdom to have
many wives and plenty children at least before the denies of the “Olori ebi” a
team of workers to plough a big farm and harvest the cocoa plantation would
have been formed. It was not a sin at all then. Not minding the harms, and
underground killing and battles among the wives not to talk of destiny
tampering games that would be done daily to te off-spring in the family. Every
style has it own spore. Every bone with its own marrow.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It was a great feat to have standard six
or grade III certificate as a teacher years ago. Although the standard was
there. Education was not rotten like today then, both the teachers and the
pupil are highly committed. In fact the missionaries are at the helm of affairs
then as local education authority inspectors nothing likes corruption which is
now the unofficial friend of the system.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Then it was a great privileged to be
educated. Cocoa farms were sold before a child would go abroad to further his
studies. Today such wisdom of mere acquisition of standard six certificate to
be the alpha and Omega or ‘”Bishop Alase” of the village church is forgone.
Time has proofed such wisdom to be irrelevant, if anyone should come up today
and claim to be educated with ordinary standard six certificate. Our children
will only throw a simple question saying standard what? (Standard six ko,
standard eight nii) (Laugh)

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; Can you imagine a pride of yesterday, now
shame of today? If we spend our resources, time and energy to build an edifice.
That years after bulldozer will be brought to clear off everything because it
now appears as “ebiti” instead of a beauty tower. What a waste of energy and
resources? How can time prove us to be wise instead?

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; No wonder that a Yoruba proverb says: the wisdom of today, foolishness tomorrow.&nbsp; 

Today,
if a man’s sickness is not severe nobody pray or wish death for the sick. But
when the conditions persist and becoming unbearable then lovers may wish the
sick died simply to go and have rest of the pains of life. External rest may be
prayed for by those who knows there savior very well while on earth. When a Man
IS seriously sick, he is at the border line between life and death. Anything
can happen if the sick recovers from the sickness; people will be happy and
praise God for answering their prayers. But if otherwise or turn of event it
will be announced that the sick-man had gone to rest finally 

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Rest is only good after a serious labour.
But when the body becomes sick and tired, eternal rest may be prayed for.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; If your today’s wisdom will be relevant
tomorrow, you must not rest or hold-on. If you are reading, don’t stop reading:
No wonder that the bible says, those of you doing good, who asked you to stop!
If you are building a&nbsp; career, never
stop. Keep at it, until you get to the apex and thereafter find other
alternatives to build along friend, if you must invest, keep at it until you
are big. Even, when you are big in whatever you choose to do, strive to be
bigger. Keep enlarging your coast until you transist to eternal rest if that is
what you work for. Therefore, let this be your prayers like Jabes called on the
God of Israel, saying: “Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my
coast, and that thine hand might be with me and that thou wouldest keep me
from!.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Never for a moment must you yield to any clamor
from any place asking you to slow down, rest or stop investing or serving your
creator. Do not reason with them if you should, you will soon be foolish in
taken such decision. Life is no longer the way it used to be. If you don’t rest
your efforts, you will never regret your actions or decisions. And no tomorrow
will prove you unwise.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; To rest is only for the body while on
earth. Equally, to rest is for the soul after this world of vanity. It is in
the eternity that soul must rest not in this world. While on earth, it’s only
your body that needs rest and not your soul.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Meanwhile, resting is only for the body
not relevant to investment if you must be wealthy in life. No wonder that the preacher
says: “Give generously, for your gifts will return to you latter. Divide your
gifts among many, for in the days ahead you yourself may need much help when
the clouds are heavy, the rains come down when a tree falls, whether south or
north, the die is cast for there it lies. If you wait for perfect conditions,
you will never get anything done. Keep on sowing your seed, for you never know
which will grow-perhaps it all will (Ecclesiastes 11:9-6)

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; The act of investing to make it in life
physically and spiritually is a game that must never stop for whatever reasons.
If you must take to investment or doing business. It must be an all-round
engagement. To be candid, money making is not what it used to be again. Those
who failed to understand this secret have taken to or device other evil means
or illegal ways of creating wealth that never last or give rest to the soul
thereafter. Investing is sowing. If you don’t want to be irrelevant tomorrow,
you must be well prepared to sow your seeds in the morning (very early enough),
also, in the afternoon, never stop to sow the seeds, (not minding the sun or
heat) in the evening, never you have the thought of stopping in the sowing
exercise. Even, in the night, wakeup and keep-on sowing your seeds. Life is
continuous, likewise investment should be. This is a secret to wealth that all
those who hate to be poor should master very well. if you don’t retire or get
tired of spending money, why must you be tired of investing or doing legitimate
business to create unlimited wealth for yourself physically and spiritually.
When last did you invest? How far have you gone in sowing several seeds that
will give you a new story or status tomorrow? 

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; How many people in the society are
investing in the night? Very few! The might is meant to rest, that’s the
general assumption. Forgetting that night rest is only for the body and not the
soul or investment attitude when a person’s soul rest, that man is gone.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; My brother, Bukola Oyejide used to saying
that a time will come, when someone will sleep, sleep and sleep, and no one
will bother to wake the person up from sleeping; instead, they will be saying
“Sleep on till eternity”. Why not suspend your “sleep” till that time that you
will have enough room, time and space for the more than sleeping exercise.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Several people are poor today simply
because they sleep too much. If you love sleeping without limitation, you will
soon enter the city of poverty and become their next king or Queen: “Take a
lesson from the ants, you lazy fellow, learn from their ways and be wise. For
though they have no king to make them work, yet they labour hard all summer,
gathering food for the winter. But you all you do is sleep. When will you wake
up? “Let me sleep a little longer! “Sure” just a little more! And as you sleep,
poverty creeps upon you like a robber and destroys you want attacks you in full
armor” (Proverbs 6:6-11) 

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Indeed, many rich and wise of yesterday –
years have become so poor today and unwise simply because they gave too much to
sleeping. Great people don’t sleep, they only take a rest. I learnt that Bishop
David Oyedepo only sleeps for four hours in a day. Can you imagine? Wealth
hates sleep, you must murder sleep to get wealth that lasts and out-live you.
If you must sleep in life, let it be for a while not for long. If you do not
want to be unwise latter in life. This is a serious matter. Poverty is nobody’s
friend but wife to those who are lazy and sleep too much.

If
we careful to use time well, it can make us a champion. No man can claim to be
a winner all the time. Situation sometimes prove otherwise.

Man
may be made to win but not all the time except when he enjoys special grace
that is rare or uncommon. If you must win, learn from the winners. Join the
team of winners all the time. Do like the winners.
