<span>Once
known as an elite service with black cars, Uber has dropped the logo it used
previously, opting for a new wordmark style logo. Along with the logo
transformation, the service has also redesigned its app and also changed its
mission statement “Make transportation as reliable as running water,
everywhere, for everyone” to “We ignite opportunity by setting the world in
motion”. Hence, the new logo will be sported everywhere, including the website
and Twitter page. Along with the Uber logo, Uber Eats also underwent a refresh.
Uber spokesperson in an email said, "We’re excited to unveil a new,
simplified logo for the Uber app that brings back the U, is easily
recognizable, and is scalable across the 660 plus cities we serve".</span>

Since
the consumers were not connecting on a regular basis, therefore, Uber has opted
to go for a logo transformation.

The reason why the previous logo was discarded, because the consumers were not connecting
on a regular basis, as the company told Adweek. Uber further stated that some
drivers were found turning the company-supplied decal inside out (since the
name was on the flip side).

The
top Silicon Valley companies, Netflix, and Google have adapted special made
fonts or custom typefaces in recent years.
