Students of Mount Carmel College, Bangalore have a new genuine excuse for not being able to attend classes on time. They are not enjoying their roller coaster ride to the college every morning and want Loafer’s Lane to be fixed immediately. Loafer’s Lane in<a href="https://getmeroof.com/blog/2018/01/4-affordable-housing-projects-in-north-bangalore-in-rs-35-60-lacs/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&nbsp;</a>Vasanth Nagar&nbsp;is bang opposite the Carmel College. It is the favourite hangout place of the students and is famous for its&nbsp;street food inviting more crowd in the area. But the road is dug up and uneven making it too risky to drive. The roads become more hazardous during rains as potholes are filled with water making vehicles to skid. Watching people fall from their&nbsp;two-wheeler is common here. The students do not stop complaining about the pathetic road conditions. The footpaths in the area are overcrowded compelling people to walk on broken roads. Also, the stretch has not been properly finished and the construction remains are lined up on the roadside making people stumble and making roads narrower. This is also one of the reasons why a huge traffic gets stuck here, making it highly unsafe and accidental prone area.&nbsp; The college was started with a vision to empower women in the year 1944. The notable alumni of the college include&nbsp;people like Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma,&nbsp;Faye D’Souza and many more. The college is a legacy to our country and bad roads just in front of the college gives a bad impression. People are expecting the roads to be improvised soon before they see any mishap happen. In a recent survey, it was revealed that potholes have killed 3,597 people in India in 2017. It is a matter of serious concern and the Supreme Court made death due to potholes a national concern. Let’s see, how soon the government takes the right action and improve the living standards of the IT City of India.
