&nbsp;The
21st century is full of a new breed of customer that is much smarter and more
sophisticated than anyone could have ever imagined.&nbsp; This means that great care must be taken in
sales training when making decisions on sales prospecting and sales consultancy
in order for you to notice significant increases in your sales activity – or
the “bottom line”.&nbsp; A sales training
program should show you not only who you target but how you qualify them, the
best ways to interact and telltale signs that you are chasing the wrong
prospects.&nbsp;&nbsp; 

Begin
by asking yourself if, when not in your presence, do your clients gasp for air
as if you are the oxygen that keeps them alive?&nbsp;
There are several detailed steps to take in the process to becoming this
powerful. Therefore we will be giving you a crash course consisting of three techniques
to assist you in achieving a profitable sales career.

Technique
#1:

First
of all, in a nutshell, there are four basic concepts to engrave into your
head.&nbsp; 

1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Connect. 

2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Become relevant.

3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Resonate.

4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Make an impact. 

The
sheer power of truly understanding the person on the other side of the line or desk
is almost unexplainable.&nbsp; But, you need
to be able to portray the deepest possible understanding of who your prospect
is, what he/she has been through, and all the pressures/constraints that they
go through on a daily basis.&nbsp; One of the
absolute best ways to accomplish this is to, “Walk in the other person’s
shoes.”

The
issue that a lot of people have that prevents them from doing this is being
able to see past their own overinflated egos.&nbsp;
In order to walk in someone else’s shoes you must fill yourself with
empathy.&nbsp; Truly imagine what they are
feeling at that very moment.&nbsp; Become the
person.&nbsp; Dig deep to find the
circumstances surrounding how they are feeling.&nbsp;
Did they have a fight with their spouse?&nbsp;
Are they feeling alone or depressed?

Another
important thing to remember while perfecting this technique is to keep in mind
that while your head is filled with questions for yourself such as, “Can I
create enough trust with this person to be able to identify a need within them
that my solutions will address,” their mind is thinking, “I have truly heard it
all before, can this company really do what they say or is this another round
of smoke and mirrors?”&nbsp; Therefore, you
need to make sure that a greater percentage of your time is being spent trying
to decipher what your prospect is going to say next rather than what you are
going to pitch next.&nbsp; 

When
this technique is successfully deployed the bond created from the vibes of
empathy and understanding that you have been sending out will make you seem
trustworthy, engaging, and honestly interested in their success.&nbsp; 

Technique
#2:

The
people of this day and age are almost 100% driven by social media and the
desire to have the largest network of “friends".&nbsp; Everywhere you turn, you hear people bragging
about the thousands or millions of contacts gained through one or the entire
plethora of available social media venues.&nbsp;
Now, it is certainly desirable to have a strong network of friends/loved
ones surrounding you, especially in a dire time of need when you really need
help.&nbsp; But therein lays the problem.&nbsp; When that dire time comes, and it always
does, are any of those thousands of “friends” going to be anywhere to be
found.&nbsp; You are actually, EXTREMELY lucky
and blessed if ONE of them comes to your rescue.&nbsp; 

The
moral of this story is:&nbsp; To succeed you
need only a small group of loyalists who believe in you because you’ve put
yourself out there for them – not “thousands” of superficial contacts.&nbsp; It only takes a handful of stellar
relationships who will tell others that they’ve never known someone as
trustworthy and selfless as you that has invested in making them successful.&nbsp; 

Technique
#3:

Treat
your best prospects as if they’ve been your client for years.&nbsp; After you roll the dice from doing this,
chances are they will become one.&nbsp; I know
this seems really simple but actually sit back and think about this one.&nbsp; Here is a short list of things that you might
do for your regular clients that wouldn’t take much effort to do for a really
good prospect:

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
Have regular lunch or dinner meetings to deepen the
connection/bond.

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
Provide them with examples of how other clients have overcome
obstacles similar to what they are going through at this point in time.&nbsp; 

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
Bring them valuable ideas on how to improve their
businesses.&nbsp; 

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
Introduce them to other people in your network.

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
Invite them to events or to speak at a conference.

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
Etc…

Then,
one day, your excellent prospect will find themselves requiring your
services.&nbsp; Do you think they will take
the time and effort to research other competitors of yours or will they just go
with the “business friend/acquaintance” who has been secretly wooing them for
months already without receiving anything in return?&nbsp; OR at the very least the networking
relationship you have built with them will lead you into some “word of mouth”
referrals with some of their like-minded friends and/or business partners.&nbsp; &nbsp;
