In His tweets, The President said, " If they cannot agree to a ceasefire during these very important peace talks, and would even kill 12 innocent people, then they probably don't have the power to negotiate a meaningful agreement anyway," Trump tweeted, adding that the Taliban sought to "build false leverage."I immediately canceled the meeting and called off peace negotiations. What kind of people would kill so many in order to seemingly strengthen their bargaining position?"These announcements came after the Taliban car bomber attacked in Afghanistan in which 12 peoples were killed including one American solider and leaving several injured.<span>Previously, during his election campaign, President Trump has announced that he will end one of the longest US war in Afghanistan. Safe exit from Afghanistan was his foreign policy agenda. For this purpose, he appointed Zalmay Kahlil Zad as a special envoy for Afghanistan and gave him 28th&nbsp;September deadline to finalize a peace agreement with Afghan Taliban. &nbsp;As a result, the US special envoy conducted 9 rounds of talks over the last few months to conclude a peace deal with the Afghan Taliban at Doha, Qatar.</span>As a result, both parties agreed upon 1) US forces withdrawal from Afghanistan; 2) Taliban guarantee that Afghanistan soil will not be used against the US by any foreign group as a launching pad against the US; 3) Intra-Afghan dialogue; 4) complete ceasefire. The agreement was expected to be signed by the US President that could result in peace in the war-torn country. But the recent Taliban attack is being held responsible for the cancellation of peace negotiation.It would be unfair to hold responsible only the Taliban for the attack that resulted in the ending of 10 months long peace talks process. Both sides are actively engaged in war and nobody misses the chance to inflict a wound on each other. The US and Afghan forces have killed more than 1000 militants over the last 10 days as accepted by Mike Pompeo, US Secretary of the StateNow the question arises who will be the beneficiary of the dead peace process? Apparently, both parties will suffer in terms of human lives and on economic fronts. But the US will feel more pressure in terms of economics if its soldiers remain protected in fortified US bases in Afghanistan. Although, it is not impossible for the US economy to sustains its forces' presence in Afghanistan but it will be difficult for the US economy to continue the unending war and spend billions of US taxpayers' money.On other hands, the Taliban will definitely suffer from human lose. As recently US Secretary of State accepted that more than 1000 militant have been killed in recent 10 days and war may intensify in coming days. It is possible that the US intensify attacks on militant hideouts. But Taliban have psychological superiority over the US and sense of victory – in terms that they control over 50 % area in Afghanistan - because they knew that the US did not want to continue the war and they do not care about their life lose – ultimately they will embarrass martyrdom. &nbsp;&nbsp;An analysis of the situation shows that possible reasons for US withdrawal from peace negotiation are: Unpredictable nature of the US President; possible tension and rift among the administration regarding the possible peace deal; unreliable US decision-makers; and Afghan's Government concerns. However, Afghan concerns do no account much for the cancellation of the peace process.It seems that many US administration persons, senators and CIA's officials were opposing the current peace deal and US exit from Afghanistan in such manners. They have expressed their concerns regarding the peace situation and were skeptical that this peace deal will not bring peace in Afghanistan. Another possible disagreement may be over the number of US soldiers that will stay in Afghanistan if the peace deal is concluded.Keeping in mind the geostrategic significance of the regions, the US forces will never quit Afghanistan. They will keep minimum appearance in the region to monitor the China, Iran, and Pakistan and to curtail Russian influence in the region. So, it will require to maintain sufficient numbers of soldiers in Afghanistan to gather intelligence information that will serve their purpose.It will be the Afghan civilians who will bore the brunt of war between the US and Taliban. In terms of causalities, 2018 was the worst year during which more civilians have lost their lives as compared to other years. According to UN reports 3804 peoples have been killed in 2018, an eleven percent increase from 2017, including 927 children and leaving 7179 wounded. Suicide attacks, bombing by Afghan Taliban and increasing air raids by US forces were responsible for the civilian causalities.Enough blood has been shed in Afghanistan. A whole new generation has witnessed the miseries of war in their country. Now it is time to end the long unending war for the sake of humanity. It would be unfair if the US administration shed the blood of innocent Afghan civilians for the sake of its one soldiers and completely derail the peace process. All parties involved in the Afghan peace process must work seriously to end the conflict.</div>
